Long Cotton Wicks (Lambi Batti / Akhand Jyot Batti) This image shows a bundle of thick, twisted, white cotton wicks. These are known as Lambi Batti (long wicks). Use: They are used in deep lamps (deepams or diyas) and are especially favored for Akhand Jyot (a continuously burning lamp) or for rituals that require the lamp to burn for a long duration. They are dipped in either oil (Tel) or ghee (Vasa) before lighting.
